The Start of Field Outdoor Spaces
Field Outdoor Spaces was created in 2005 as a “from the garage with a truck” landscape company focusing on small, urban spaces because it was what we knew and the places we lived. From our original tagline “Limited Spaces, We Have Ideas”, fast forward to today. Field now has 30 employees and offers a full range of landscaping for small and bigger yards in both urban and suburban settings. We have started KerPlantz!, our direct to consumer plant program, highlighted with a super cool plant sale in June. During the winter months, our crews switch over to doing indoor remodeling under our Uplift by Field brand. Here are some of the milestones of our journey.
Field World Headquarters
Over the past two decades, Field has had several homes for our shop including the Casket Arts Building, The Frost Building (an old Linseed Factory on Tyler St in N.E. Minneapolis) and a 3-year stint in the Longfellow Neighborhood. In 2018, we had the amazing good fortune to be able to purchase the perfect property for our operation at 412 Harding St. N.E. We can’t imagine a better place to call home and share the building with our tenant, Nomad Sauna.

Great partners make a world of difference! We have built some incredible relationships with some of the best in our industry. Our partners include Harold Pietig and Sons Concrete (18 year relationship), Dakota Unlimited Fence (over 10 years with sales person, Andrew Laliberte), Accentual Lighting (10 years +), Kelly Green Irrigation (10 years +) as well as remodelers Well-built Construction and Castle Building and Remodeling.
Plants, Plants, Plants
At field, we 
plants!
In 2016, Andy Wilson from Wilson’s Nursery came to us and asked, “Is there anything else we can do for you.” We said, “Yes!” and as they say….”It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship”. Wilson’s Nursery custom grows up to 30 perennial selections for us as well as growing plants based on our specifications in “landscaper-friendly” containers and trays. This incredible partnership made it possible in 2017 for us to launch our KerPlantz! plant sale which takes place every June. This sale provides clients and homeowners a way to purchase the best, low-maintenance plants in an easy stress-free process.

Our Team
Delivering fulfilling life work and work life. The biggest investment we continue to make at Field is hiring, educating and supporting our employees. We currently have 30 individuals on our team and in 2024 made our ultimate goal a reality when we made 7 employees stockholders. We will continue to build their share percentage and the number of individuals on the ownership team over the coming years.
Remodeling
Delivering fulfilling life work and work life. The biggest investment we continue to make at Field is hiring, educating and supporting our employees. We currently have 30 individuals on our team and in 2024 made our ultimate goal a reality when we made 7 employees stockholders. We will continue to build their share percentage and the number of individuals on the ownership team over the coming years.
Body Health Program
In 2017 we started working with Von Gillette to build a body health program to build and protect the health of our team. From morning exercise programs to individual “aches and pains” assessments – this program is the coolest and most essential initiative we have ever worked on.
Our clients
In the past 20 years, we have worked with over a thousand clients and are so overjoyed as we begin to work on second and third projects on those properties. And now, as some of our clients are moving from their original homes into new ones, we are getting requests to help create those new spaces. We are honored by the trust given to us. The relationship we have with our clients is what makes this all worth doing.
