Each building starts to have a unique issue of drainage, tree overgrowth, lawn issues or privacy. Field will work with your board and committees to develop a long-term plan that addresses each building’s unique needs, establishes an up-to-date look that ties all the buildings and spaces together and helps plan project priorities so you can be smart with your funds and work yearly towards a long-term goal. Working with our Master Arborist partner, we will also make sure that there is a tree overview and strategy since tree issues are usually the first issue that land managers face.

Field designs and installs landscapes for unique urban public spaces, specializing particularly on rain gardens and ecological plantings. Field also works with cities on tree planting and placement. Cities are being hit hard with tree removals and keeping up with new tree planting. It is easy to fall into the trap of quickly just planting something and realizing several years down the line that there was no rhyme or reason to the efforts. Field can help create a straightforward “Tree Strategy Document” that outlines goal species to plant in different categories (small/medium/large/conifer) as well as new “community strategies” or planting trees in groups with underplantings in addition to traditional 40’ singular tree strategies. We are flexible and direct — responding quickly to new project needs with simple “colored dots” on plan documents as well as on-site flagging.

Field has unique relationships with local nurseries and custom grows many plants that work well in the urban environment. We specialize in spec. plant installation including site preparation, seeding, planting, trees and mulching. We have experience in rain gardens, permeable pavers and native plantings in a variety of challenging environments.
