    St Paul Tea House

    Having It All

    SHADES OF BLUE:
    Natural in the front;
    party in the back.

    The steep front slope of this small Kenny neighborhood house makes walkers stop and marvel while the bees buzz from flower to flower. The slope is covered in a little bluestem planting with seasonal flowering plants that keep the bees and butterflies busy. A unique hand built stone light with steel cap casts a glow at night. Moving towards the back yard you pass over a bridge spanning a raingarden before coming around the corner to see a full backyard ready for guests.

    The back landscape features a modern patio and dining area shaded by a bright blue Sunbrella that is underlight with cafe lights. The shade sits atop four varying height square stainless steel posts. The outdoor kitchen counter top was hand-selected from marble slabs that are UV safe. The wood facing is kilned ash. This is ash boards that are kilned in Northern Minnesota to take out every last bit of water – which makes them extremely durable and weather-resistant.

    Finally, cozy up to the Field-fabricated gas firepit – hand-built from cor-ten steel and accented with Mexican beach pebble decorative rock.
