As Lead Estimator, I work closely with our sales and design team to provide accurate estimates for each of our projects. I also serve as the Chair of our Safety Committee, working directly with our crews to maintain a safe work environment for all our staff. I also oversee our building and grounds operations, ensuring day-to-day needs are met and that our physical workspace reflects the same functionality and inspiration as the projects we create.
Background & JourneyAfter a decade in accounts receivable at American Linen Supply, I realized my professional path needed a major shift toward something more creative and hands-on. Looking back at the joy I found in community theater throughout the 1990s, I decided to enroll at the University of Minnesota to study the technical and backstage aspects of theater production. However, life took an unexpected turn when a traumatic family event interrupted my studies. During the time I was processing that event, a conversation with my grief counselor pointed me toward the landscaping industry as a way to satisfy my desire for a job that was project-based, fresh, and engaging.
That suggestion started a career in landscaping that has spanned over 21 years and has been fueled by a love for the “build.” My journey at Field has been defined by variety and growth. I started in the field as a crew member, honed my craft as a specialist in detailed stonework and rock wall installation, and served as the lead carpenter. Today, I bring that extensive field experience to my role as Lead Estimator.
I enjoy creating projects tailored to each client’s specific interests, whether that be gardening, entertaining, or playing, and then delivering a result that exceeds their wildest dreams.
I combine my technical background and logistical experience to ensure that every vision we design is backed by a practical, precise, and professional plan.
A Standout Moment
My most memorable project was a very large water feature stream that I was tasked with installing. I couldn’t believe I was responsible for moving so much earth, rock, and water!
Outside of FieldIn my spare time, I enjoy fishing or hitting the roads and trails for some miles on the bicycle. Model airplanes are also a passion of mine, and I enjoy the challenge of building and flying RC planes whenever I have the opportunity.
